Terms of Service
Last updated: October 25, 2026
Welcome to MailDock. By accessing or using the MailDock website (https://maildock.dev), our client SDK scripts (maildock.js), dashboard portal, or related email delivery services, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our platform.
1. Description of Service
MailDock provides developers, agencies, and website owners with backend-free form processing, automated spam mitigation, visual email templating, AI-assisted brand styling, and SMTP delivery services. MailDock functions as a transaction processing and relay layer connecting website forms directly to customer-owned SMTP mailboxes and servers.
2. Account Registration & Security
To access the MailDock dashboard and receive site keys, you must register for an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information.
- Maintain the confidentiality of your account credentials, passwords, and private API keys.
- Promptly notify MailDock of any unauthorized use or security compromise of your account.
- Accept responsibility for all actions and email transmissions initiated under your account.
3. Acceptable Use Policy & Zero-Spam Mandate
To protect email ecosystem health and maintain high delivery standards, MailDock enforces a strict Acceptable Use Policy. You agree NOT to use MailDock to:
- Send unsolicited bulk email (spam), purchased list blasts, or unauthorized commercial solicitations.
- Transmit phishing attempts, deceptive spoofing, fraudulent schemes, or credential-harvesting forms.
- Distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or malicious code payloads.
- Harvest or transmit sensitive personal data prohibited for unencrypted web forms (such as payment card CVVs, full credit card numbers, or government-issued national identity numbers).
- Intentionally circumvent origin whitelisting, rate limiting (20 req/min per IP), or automated spam defense systems.
- Impersonate any person, business, or entity without legal authorization.
Zero Tolerance Enforcement: MailDock reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently terminate any account or client site key found to be in violation of this Acceptable Use Policy without prior notice or refund.
4. Customer-Provided SMTP & Deliverability Responsibilities
MailDock dispatches emails using the SMTP server credentials you supply (such as Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Amazon SES, or custom hosts). Consequently:
- DNS Records: You are responsible for ensuring that your sending domain possesses valid SPF (
v=spf1), DKIM, and DMARC DNS records authorizing your SMTP host. - Provider Quotas: You are responsible for complying with the sending quotas, daily limits, and terms established by your SMTP provider.
- Reputation & Inbox Placement: MailDock cannot guarantee that messages will not be marked as spam or rejected by recipient mail servers, as final inbox placement depends heavily on domain reputation, sender history, content heuristics, and DNS authentication.
5. Subscription Plans, Billing & Cancellation
- Free Plan: Offered with monthly caps on client sites (1 site), form emails (50/month), templates (3), and AI generations (3/month). Unused quotas do not roll over.
- Paid Subscriptions (Pro & Scale): Billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual basis via Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.
- Upgrades & Downgrades: You may adjust your plan at any time through the dashboard billing portal. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the conclusion of the active billing cycle.
- Refunds: Payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.
6. Intellectual Property & License
Your Content: You retain full ownership of all data submitted through your forms, your brand assets, and custom email template HTML. You grant MailDock a limited, non-exclusive license solely to process, render, and transmit this content to fulfill your service requests.
MailDock Property: The MailDock platform, website, user interface, brand assets, SDK scripts (maildock.js), and anti-spam heuristics are the intellectual property of MailDock / Locus Websites. You may not reverse engineer, decompile, copy, or distribute platform code without express authorization.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
MailDock is provided on an “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, MailDock disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, MailDock and Locus Websites, LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages (including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business interruption) arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the platform.
In no event shall our total aggregate liability for all claims related to the platform exceed the total amount paid by you to MailDock in the twelve (12) months preceding the incident.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms of Service are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Minnesota, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or dispute arising out of these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located within Minnesota.
10. Modifications & Contact
We reserve the right to revise or update these Terms at any time. When material changes are made, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of MailDock after changes take effect constitutes your agreement to the revised Terms.
